Written Programs
Why have written programs?
In general, OSHA requires a standard written safety manual covering safety rules, procedures and to address specific safety hazards. When OSHA considers a safety hazard to be serious, they usually require written documentation of the steps an employer takes to counteract the hazard.
This also triggers the need for training. During a compliance inspection OSHA may not just ask to see any written programs but also documented training on those policies and procedures.
